Our Story

Established for Impact

The Institute of Development Studies and Sustainability (IDSS) was established in 2017 under United International University (UIU) with a commitment to interdisciplinary research, education, and collaboration. IDSS aims to address critical challenges in sustainable development through evidence-based studies and policy-oriented research that contribute to the national and global development agenda.

The institute serves as a hub for academic excellence, bringing together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue and action on pressing issues such as climate change, poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, and social equity.

Governance of IDSS

IDSS operates under the leadership of Director Prof. Dr. Hamidul Huq and follows the rules and regulations of United International University (UIU). The institute maintains academic autonomy while adhering to the university's governance framework, ensuring quality education and research output.
